FindTheName Privacy Policy
- Basic name generation works on your device without an account.
- Your keywords, favorites, notes, filters, and naming preferences are stored locally.
- AdMob advertising and optional features can involve third-party services.
- Privacy questions: anvilparadox@gmail.com.
1. Who is responsible
FindTheName is published under the Anvil Paradox brand by Stylianos Sklomponakis, an independent developer based in Greece ("we", "us"). For processing for which we determine the purposes and means, we are the data controller. Contact us at anvilparadox@gmail.com.
2. Name generation and information on your device
FindTheName generates suggestions using word libraries bundled with the app. It does not send your keywords, generated names, favorites, notes, or naming preferences to a developer-operated server or an AI service. There is no in-app account, cloud synchronization service, or AI generation backend.
To provide the features you choose, the app stores information on your device, including favorites and notes, comparison lists, category and style filters, included or excluded words, likes and hidden names, theme choice, and a limited record of previously shown names. This supports saving ideas, tailoring suggestions locally, and reducing repetition. Advertising and consent components store their own information as explained below.
FindTheName does not request access to your contacts, microphone, camera, or precise device location for its naming features.
3. Banner advertising and consent
The free Android app is designed to show one bottom banner supplied through Google AdMob. It does not include interstitial or rewarded ad placements.
The Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect and share IP addresses, approximate location inferred from an IP address, app and ad interactions, diagnostic/performance information, and device or account identifiers such as the Android advertising ID and app set ID. Its processing supports delivering and measuring advertisements, analytics, and preventing fraud. The exact processing depends on consent, device settings, ad type, and Google's configuration.
Google's User Messaging Platform manages applicable advertising privacy messages and choices. The app requests ads only when that platform reports that ad requests are permitted. Where the platform requires a privacy-options entry, use Ad privacy choices in the app to review or change your decision. Declining personalized advertising does not necessarily stop all ads or all technical data processing.
Our AdMob consent configuration uses Google’s automatically updated list of commonly used advertising partners. In the European advertising privacy message, open Manage options and the Ad partners list to see the partners and their privacy information and exercise the choices offered. Google’s advertising partner information also describes its commonly used providers. This is a consent-provider list; it does not mean that a separate SDK from every listed provider is installed in FindTheName.
Google and advertising partners may receive data directly from the SDKs. Their roles and practices are described in the privacy messages and their policies. We may receive aggregate advertising reports through AdMob; those reports are not a database of the names or notes you save.

4. Optional features involving other services
- Research links: If you open Google Search, Google Play, or a trademark/domain research link, your browser opens an external website. Search links can include the selected name and related search terms in the URL. The destination receives your request under its own privacy practices. Opening the research panel alone does not perform those external searches.
- Pronunciation: If you request pronunciation, the selected text is passed to the installed Android text-to-speech service. That provider may process it online depending on your selected voice and settings. FindTheName does not record your voice.
- Copying and sharing: Copying places the selected text on the system clipboard. Sharing sends the text to the app or destination you choose through Android's share interface.
- Export: Export creates a text or CSV file in the location you select. If you choose a cloud storage provider, that provider processes the exported file under its own policy.
5. Contacting support
If you email us, we receive your email address, the message and attachments you choose to send, and ordinary email metadata. We use this information to respond, investigate your issue, and handle privacy requests. Our support inbox is provided by Gmail. Please avoid sending identity documents, financial information, or other unnecessary sensitive information.
6. Purposes and legal grounds
Where the GDPR applies, we process information needed to provide requested app features or respond to service requests to perform the requested service or take related pre-contractual steps. We rely on legitimate interests for proportionate support administration, troubleshooting, security, and fraud prevention where those interests are not overridden by your rights. We rely on consent where required for advertising personalization and access to device information, and on legal obligations where processing is required by law. Google and other independent providers describe their own legal grounds in their notices.
You can withdraw consent through the applicable privacy choices without affecting processing that was lawful before withdrawal. Withdrawing consent may change the advertising available, while basic offline name generation remains available.
7. Retention and deletion
- Local app information: Favorites and other saved app information remain on your device until removed through available app controls, Android's clear-storage function, or uninstalling the app. Clearing favorites does not clear every stored filter or preference; use Android's app-storage controls to remove the full local app store.
- Exports and shared copies: These remain in the locations or services you selected. Delete them separately; clearing the app does not remove exported or shared copies.
- Support correspondence: We retain it only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve the request, provide relevant follow-up, establish or defend legal claims, and meet applicable legal obligations. You may request deletion, subject to those limits.
- Advertising and consent information: Google and its partners retain information according to its type, purpose, legal requirements, and their policies. We cannot erase all information held independently by those providers. Use their privacy controls or contact them, and contact us for requests involving processing under our responsibility.
No FindTheName account needs to be deleted because the app does not provide account creation.
8. Security, recipients, and international processing
Local app information is kept in the app's device storage, and Android automatic app backup is disabled in the reviewed app. Its WebView loads bundled app resources, while external links open separately. Google states that Mobile Ads SDK data is encrypted in transit using TLS. No security measure guarantees absolute protection.
Information can be processed by Google, advertising providers identified in applicable consent messages, email-service providers, and services you deliberately select for research, pronunciation, sharing, or export. We may disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect legal rights.
These providers may process information outside Greece or the European Economic Area. Where required, applicable transfers must rely on a lawful mechanism such as an adequacy decision or appropriate safeguards. Google's policies explain its international processing and safeguards. Contact us for details about transfers under our responsibility.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on applicable law and the circumstances, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction, or portability of personal data, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent. We do not operate an automated decision system that makes legal or similarly significant decisions about you.
Email anvilparadox@gmail.com with your request. We may need proportionate information to verify your identity. We do not receive a remote copy of your local favorites or notes, so local deletion should be done on your device. We generally respond to GDPR rights requests within one month, subject to lawful extensions.
You may complain to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority or another competent supervisory authority.
10. Age audience and younger users
FindTheName is intended for teenagers and adults aged 13 and over. It is not designed or marketed for children under 13. This intended audience is separate from any store content rating.
Users aged 13–17 may still be minors or below the relevant age of consent under local law. A 13+ audience declaration does not itself establish valid consent to advertising or remove applicable protections for younger users. Advertising and consent must be handled in accordance with applicable age-related requirements.
If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information to us, or you have a concern about a younger user’s privacy, contact anvilparadox@gmail.com so we can assess and address the issue.
11. Changes
We will update this policy when app behavior, providers, or legal requirements change. The published policy will show its effective or last-updated date, and material changes will be communicated where required.
